No Coincidences

Last month God opened up the door for us to do some new and exciting things here at South Mountain Christian Camp. Our team of summer volunteers wrapped up six weeks of virtual summer camp, with 70 videos posted online for campers. We took two small groups of campers on backpacking trips. And we participated in two outreach events, connecting with children in their neighborhoods. All of these were new programs, facilitated by our program director, Mike, but I want to tell you a little more about those outreach events.
Mike was in the cafeteria one evening when a disc golfer just "happened to" stop by to say hello. He introduced himself as Steve Hogge, director of Hands on Missions.
They talked for a while. Mike told him about our virtual camp program and our desire to do outreach events. Steve excitedly informed him that he, too, was in the process of planning some outreach events and asked if we would like to work together. Mike immediately recognized God's hand in this and agreed.
Our creative team prepared an interactive skit and gospel presentation based on the parable of the wise and foolish builders. They performed it several times at the event.
After one performance, one of our team members, Kassidy, recognized a camper from last summer who was in attendance. They reconnected, and Kassidy was able to once again display the love of God to this young girl.
"That connection just made my whole summer!" Kassidy said later.
Then, just a few days after this, Kassidy was visiting an outdoor ice cream shop when she spotted this same camper and was able to reconnect again!
I hope you can agree that this is not just a series of random coincidences. God is actively at work bringing the right people together at the right time to accomplish His plan.
All of this begins with the prayer and contributions of our supporters. They open up doors for ministry, and we are so thankful to partner together with them.
