It Means So Much
Wow, these kids are so ready for camp!
We opened summer camp registration on February 4th at 6:00 pm, and within 48 hours, more kids were signed up than we had in the entire month of February during previous years. In fact, for the first two hours, our online system was accepting more than one registration every minute.
We’re now receiving emails, messages, and phone calls from parents letting us know just how excited their children are to be able to attend camp this summer.
One parent, in particular, shared how disappointed her daughter, Nyah, was when camp was cancelled last year. The little girl wept when she heard the news, because camp means so much to her.
Last summer, the mother shared, Nyah watched every video our staff put together for the “virtual camp” experience. She laughed and learned, but she cried too, because she missed camp so much. This year, Nyah was one of the first to sign up, and we can’t wait to see her again.
As you know, COVID is not over, and there are many new restrictions that must be followed in order to have summer camp this year. It will require fewer campers and extra staff. There will be a lot of extra work for every one of us, but we are determined to do everything we can to put together a safe, effective program that shares the love of God with children in unforgettable ways.
Every team member is a vital part of that process. Every staff member, volunteer, and supporter is essential. None of us can do this alone, but together we will make a difference.
