It was a beautiful day—a day that had been in the making for ten years—when we gathered together for the groundbreaking ceremony of our new multi-purpose building last month. Friends and supporters joined our staff, board, and even some campers at the future site of the building to celebrate the occasion.
We reflected on how far the Lord has brought SMCC over the past 47 years, and we looked to the future, discussing how this new building will impact the ministry. When completed, this structure will provide the kitchen facilities, dining hall, and chapel space we need to reach more kids for Christ. The immediate impact will be that 144 more campers will be able to attend camp every summer. In the long term, it will open opportunities to develop new programs that will continue our mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
When it was time to break ground, we gave that honor to the kids in attendance, because this building is for them. They are the reason we keep this ministry moving forward. SMCC is not about the facilities; it’s about the campers. They lined up with their shovels and, together, made the first dig on this important new project. It was an amazing moment.
Please pray with us that the Lord will continue to bring in the funding we need to complete this project. We are seeking individuals who can sponsor a seat in the new building at $3,300 each. You can find more information at THIS LINK or you can make a donation using the Donate button below.
