My Favorite Chapter

I've been working on a book lately about some of the amazing things God has done here at South Mountain Christian Camp over the years. Through the process of writing this book, God continues to do even more amazing things.

For example, I wanted to include some stories about campers whose lives were impacted at camp. I thought I had selected the stories I needed, but as I was going through my fifth rewrite last month, the Lord suddenly impressed upon my spirit that I needed to include Stacy's story. Stacy was saved at camp when she was a teenager, and she has a powerful testimony. She's been on our summer staff for the past several years. However, I had never written Stacy's story, so, in order to get the details right, I needed to meet with her.

Ten days later, at our staff reunion, I pulled Stacy aside to ask if she could share her testimony with me again. Before I could even ask, however, Stacy shared with me how ten days earlier, the Lord had impressed upon her heart to write out her testimony. She stayed up late into the night writing her story, and she brought it with her to the staff reunion!

I couldn't believe it. Cold chills ran up my spine as I excitedly told her that, at the same time, the Lord told me to include her story in my book. The timing was too much to be a coincidence. Stacy and I marveled together at how God was working so clearly through the direction of the Holy Spirit.

I won't get into Stacy's story right now, but it just became my favorite chapter in the book. I'll let you know when it's available.

This is how God works at South Mountain Christian Camp. When we follow His guidance, He takes care of all the details. That's why our supporters are such an important part of this ministry. They respond when God encourages them to give. That makes us partners in the kingdom of God. Changed lives like Stacy's are the result of that partnership.
